October 2013 FR

In this month’s issue, we try to demystify the first steps of being a candidate – the nomination process.

We also continue with introductions to some of the key people to watch in our party: our new Liberal Critic for the Status Women, Kirsty Duncan and a couple of candidates for National Executive  and provincial executive. We also feature important capacity building work for women in politics in South Sudan.

#NWLC Is there any chance that the LPC could invite Mary Robinson, past president of Ireland and High Commissioner for Human Rights, and current Founder of the Climate Justice Institute, to speak at the Convention in Montreal, and provide a keynote speech as well as a session for women Liberals? She seems to have mastered bringing both toughness and compassion to political life as a woman leader, and has been extraordinarily accomplished, effective, and optimistic. I would personally especially enjoy hearing her perspective on climate issues, and any advice she has for LPC in this regard.
