Fall Update from the NWLC

September 14, 2012

I’m pleased to share with you the National Women’s Liberal Commission newsletter for September. The NWLC has had a busy summer, and we look forward to continuing our work this fall.

The NWLC is delighted to announce that former Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable Sheila Copps has agreed to take on the role of Chair of the Judy LaMarsh Fund Committee. As you know, the Judy Fund exists to help Liberal women overcome the financial obstacles to entering politics.

This October, to coincide with Persons Day, celebrated each October 18, the NWLC, along with the Liberal Caucus and Liberals across the country, is planning a series of events to fundraise and build a wider network of support for the Judy Fund.

As a member of the Women’s Commission, we’re asking you to be a part of this important initiative by organizing an event in your riding. You’ll be provided with a ready-to-use event toolkit to help make a Judy event in your riding a reality.

Please join the fight for equality in our Party and in Parliament. The Judy Fund needs your support today.
